The Historic Aircaft Flight was formed at Biggin Hill in 1957 to commemorate the RAF's major battle honour, 'The Battle of Britain'. It was remaned the'Battle of Britain Memorial Flight' when it aquired the Lancaster B1 in 1973. Today he Flight is one of the world's best known historic aircraft collections, maintaing in airworthy condition a Lancaster, five Spitfires, Two Hurricanes, two Chipmunks and a Dakota.
