A burning B-29 Superfortress make an emergency landing on Iwo Jima in early 1945. Thousands of US Marines had given their lives capturing the tiny volcanic island, but their heroic sacrifice saved the lives of nearly 25,000 US Airmen who were able to make emergency landings there.

Joining the artist John Shaw, the edition is countersigned by 13 Iwo Jima veterans including 2 B-29 Superfortress pilots who made emergency landings there.

The Artist Proof Edition is additionally signed by Jack Lucas Medal of Honor recipient.
