Gathering Storm by Robert Taylor SM
Robert Taylor highlights the elegant lethality that exuded from the Focke-Wulf 190 fighters, as a group of A-3 and A-4s climb out over Theville to intercept B-17 Fortresses en route to bomb submarine pens at Lorient. Pilots in their high visibility cockpits gun their massive B.M.W. radial engines as they power upwards through the turbulent air. Within minutes their drop tanks will be jettisoned and battle joined. Spoiling for a fight, they presented the B-17 crews with an awesome reception committee.
Signed in pencil by the artist Robert Taylor and four German Aces: Lieutenant Hugo Broch Knights Cross, Major Heinz Lange Knights Cross, Major Fritz Losigkeit Knights Cross, Captain Gunther Schack Knights Cross with Oak Leaves.
