Lt. Col. James H.Doolittle confers with Capt. Marc A. Mitscher on the bomber-laden deck of the U.S.S. Hornet as the fateful day of April 18, 1942 approaches. This daring bombing raid on Japan gave America and its allies a badly-needed morale boost in the wake of the destruction at Pearl Harbor. Originally published in 1994 in order to raise funds for a Military Museum, artist John Shaw retained the rights to issue in the future an Artist only signed edition. The artist, has now issued and released the new DOOLITTLE RAIDERS PUBLISHERS PROOF EDITION consisting of just 300 hand-numbered proofs, each copy has been endorsed and authenticated by the artist, together with the signatures of FIVE original Doolittle Raider veterans: Lt.
