“Concorde’s Delta Wing is one of the most recognised silhouettes in aviation and will be etched in the memories of generations to come. In this painting, I wished to capture Concorde’s unique profile and decided on a landing scene to achieve this . The airport in the background is kept deliberately anonymous so that the aircraft remains the centre of attention. This may not be the last flight for the ‘Queen of the Skies’ but her days are numbered and the sunset hints that this is the end of an era for aviation.”
