A four man Special Forces patrol follow a stabilised equipment container during a HALO freefall insertion into hostile territory. High Altitude Low Opening freefall insertions allow Special Forces to be deployed from altitudes of 25,000ft or higher, taking advantage of a low radar profile.

HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) operations enable Special Forces to be covertly inserted into hostile territory, often under the cover of darkness. Equipped with oxygen and heavily laden with weapons, ammunition, explosives, task specific equipment and other supplies.

Mosquito
The returned aircrew of a Royal Air Force De Havilland Mosquito discuss the latest reconnaissance with the Squadron Intelligence Officer. During the highly active period 1943-1944, Mosquito crews were known to fly up to three sorties in twenty-four hours. The German capital was attacked with such regularity, the inhabitants named the high speed bomber The Berlin Express. Twilight Thunder by Stuart Brown (SM)
Lancaster
On November 3rd 1943, 21 year old Flt/Lt Reid's Lancaster was hit during two seperate attacks by enemy fighters. His navigator was killed and the wireless operator fatally wounded. Bill Reid was also seriously injured with wounds to his head, shoulders and hands. Despite severe damage to the aircraft and with no oxygen, heating or communication systems, Flt/Lt Reid pressed on and successfully bombed the target some fifty minutes later.
