The Millennium year saw the arrival of one of motor racings most famous marques into the Formula One World Championship. The new Jaguar Racing team embarked on their long-term plan to World championship success and recorded the teams first ever championship points when Eddie Irvine achieved fourth place in only their seventh Grand Prix start, at Monaco, on the 4th June 2000
