Valentino Rossi won his 9th World Championship title in 2009 to equal Mike Hailwood and Carlo Ubbiali's record of nine Championships in all classes. ( Seven Moto GP /500cc titles, one 250cc title and one 125cc title). He is also Yamaha's most successful rider of all time and is the only rider in history to win at least one GP in fourteen consecutive seasons.
